Reflection Report Webinar 2 Title: Digital Dreams to Reality: Building a Career in the Online World

 I. Details of the event/activity

The title of the webinar I attended was “Digital Dreams to Reality: Building a Career in the Online World.” This webinar focuses on an introduction to how to build your career in the virtual world. It was organized by the team 7WATTS from the College of Computer Studies, Gordon College. It was held on November 23, 2024, at 2:00 pm. The master speaker of the webinar is Ronaldo Piper R. Ramboanga, RN. He is the founder/owner of Knights of Online Marketers.

II. Reflections on the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)

My take here is that several valuable lessons on building a successful online career were shared during the webinar, with an emphasis on persistence and hard work. Those present at "Embrace Digital Transformation" learned about the crucial nature of digital transformation and its significance in continuous improvement. The online world provided ample opportunities for career advancement and entrepreneurial pursuits. The significance of forming networks and participating in online communities was highlighted. A growth mindset and adaptability are essential to learning. They shared insights from their Personal Branding Insights report detailing the process of developing and advertising a personal brand. Value of Passion The value of passion in driving motivation and resilience was highlighted. 

III. Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (practical application of learnings)

In practical application, the knowledge from the webinar can lead to significant career advancements through skill enhancement. Regularly upgrading digital skills through online courses and workshops. Employing digital tools such as LinkedIn, Upwork, and Fiverr to establish a professional network and locate job openings. Embracing and engaging in online communities to gain knowledge and socialize. And with that, this can be achieved through networking. Creating a Personal Brand: Designing your own website or blog to showcase skills, talent, and experience. And being flexible is one thing that will make you gain more, and being open to new tools, technologies, and the like.

IV. Positive feedback (on the event organization)

It was a well-coordinated event that provided ample information. The presence of expert speakers, who were knowledgeable and shared practical insights based on their experiences, was one of the key aspects. The content was relevant and engaging, keeping the audience engaged throughout the entire session. 

V. Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities

My suggestions for future activities include hands-on workshops, which may involve either real-time workshops or interactive sessions that allow participants to practice skills effectively. Click here for more information. Following up on sessions, designing follow-up exercises to assess the progress of participants, and providing further guidance. Access to resources such as slides, recordings, and suggested readings for future reference. Further expanding the number of networking opportunities for participants to connect with each other and their speakers.
